Xdata/InDdata do not place limits on the data. Your records and fields can be as many and as long as you need, within the overall limits of the document. Additionally, you can create dictionary-style headers and footers on each page or spread, with sophisticated controls over the content.
Xdata/InData are easy to use: in the database or spreadsheet application, select and sort the data to be published, export it in standard raw ASCII format (comma or tab delimited);
- in QuarkXPress or InDesign, create a template for a prototypical record, including place holders for each field (for example, name, formatted in any fashion);
- import the file using the Xdata/InData menu in QuarkXPress or InDesign,
- choose the data file, and
- press start in the Xdata control panel.
