ShadowFixer has been developed to correct the problem of different exposure requirements within one image. A dark corridor in the foreground leading to a light garden in the background, shadows across a subject's face, or a photograph taken in bright sunlight of a subject in shadow the type of problems that photographers and image makers face daily.Previously one of the few ways of dealing with digital images with under exposed areas or dark shadows may have been to correct using the brightness and contrast controls, which has the effect of lightening the whole image and lightening the areas that were already correctly exposed. ShadowFixer is designed to be used on an entire image or a large region of an image which has boundaries that lay along those of an object or shadow in the image, blending the over/under exposed regions into the whole picture, while enhancing the detail in the fixed areas.Features:• corrects under exposure in images;• support for much larger images;• much reduced memory requirements;• produces better results than correcting using the brightness/contrast tools;• enhances detail in corrected areas for excellent finished images;• designed to be used on the whole picture, calculates which areas contain shadows;• seamless integration with your image-editing workflow;• easy installation, just download and install as instructed;• works on both 8-bit (24-bit RGB) and 16-bit images (48-bit RGB); and• PC and Mac OS X compatibility.Click the Resources tab above for related articles and other information on this topic.
