Blacklining tracks changes made to the text of a document as it is being revised. It is designed to allow a user or viewer of an InDesign document to be able to see a complete history of changes that have occurred. Text inserts are shown as underlines and text deletes can either be shown as strike through, or have a caret mark from where text has been deleted.

Blacklining also keeps a revision history that can show changes made at different revision cycles, and by choosing different revision cycles it is possible to show a complete history of a document.

Preferences govern the screen display and the printed output, and these can be set for individual revision levels as well. In addition there is an option to highlight all onscreen marks and have sidebar markers when printed. A special characters' feature allows a live header of a document to be created so that, if used on a master page for example, all pages can have document information such as name, date and time, as well as blacklining revision numbers and a checksum.

A history file records the actions taken in a documents' history and this can be printed or exported — which may be useful for billing or auditing.

Greeker ID enables the user to scramble selected text. This proprietary technique leaves all the words right where they are on the page but makes them unreadable. This is useful for sending a client a dummy copy, yet giving him or her a clear picture of how the final piece will look. To greek text simply select the text or text boxes you wish to greek and choose greek and ungreek text from the GLUON Menu.

Once you have used this product on text you can ungreek it by selecting the text and using the greek and ungreek text menu item again.

Not only will this save time when going to finals (one is not stuck replacing ancient Lorem Ipsum copy though we also give you this option), but there cannot be any layout surprises because everyone in the production process will have been using the real copy.
